Catering Provision

award-silverFamily Dining - Teach Primary - January 2016Lunchtime is a key part of our school day. We operate a family dining policy, whereby children learn to serve themselves and each other (as opposed to having to queue at a counter to collect their food).

There are adults eating with the children to encourage and model good conversations.

All children from Reception to Year 2 are entitled to school meals, free of charge. School dinners from Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 cost £2.10 per lunch. Children in Years 3-6 can opt for a Packed Lunch (it has to be a healthy one: it cannot included crisps, sweet bars, etc. and the drink has to be water). Opting for a Packed Lunch or a School Dinner in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 is made on a termly basis (Autumn, Spring, Summer). Changes cannot be made in the middle of term.

We aim to be a very healthy school and see eating as a way to reinforce our values and commitment to a high-quality education.

We only have one option available at lunchtime (one starter, one main course, one dessert), unless your child has specific dietary requirements (medical, religious, etc.). We operate such a policy to enable children to learn about new foods and develop an appreciation for variety. Our commitment is therefore to make our food tasty and healthy and also make eating an enjoyable experience.
